Slip Ring Induction Motor Starters
Essen manufactures Slip Ring Motor Starters using the Essen produced resistors.
These starters are capable of starting a slip ring induction motor in the least time and is capable of accelerating the motor to meet the required starting torque.
The slip ring induction motor starter (SRIM Starter) consists of 3 compartments:
- Stator Compartment
- Rotor Compartment
- Resistor Compartment


The SRIM starter is equipped with the following protection:
- Overload protection
- Over temperature protection
- Locked rotor protection
- Single phasing protection
- Phase reversal protection (if needed)
The SRIM starter is manufactured in the ranges of 40, 60HP to 2000HP, for both LT and HT Slip Ring Induction Motors.

- The SRIM starter offers the flexibility of monitoring the various motor faults and has a feature of storing the details of previous five faults.
- The construction is very rugged and is as per the specific IP protection and IS standards
- The resistors are punched stainless steel of uniform thickness having features of rapid heating and cooling cycles. Suitable tappings will be provided to vary starting torque as per site requirements.
- The SRIM starters will meet the actual starting torque requirements
